Bettina Gradinger - Violin

Bettina Gradinger - Violin

She doesn't play as frequently as regular members but Mrs. Bettina Gradinger is also a founding member of the Haydn Orchestra. In 1987 she was just 19 years old. Since then she worked very hard. She took part in the Joachim Violin Competition in 1991, which was held during the International Haydntage. She did not win but Jury Adam Fischer thought she was one of best.
Now she is the concert master of the Volksoper orchestra. Because the top two orchestras in Austria, the Vienna Philharmonic and Vienna Symphony don't have a concert "mistress", she has the highest position of any female violinist in Austria.

Because of her duties with the Volksoper, she can't play with the Haydn Orchestra frequently, but when the first concert master Wolfgang Redik can't play, she takes his place on the platform. (05/1/04)
