Mr. Rezső Pertorini, who is the leader of four cellos of
Haydn Orchestra, is also one of the principal cellists of the Hungarian State Symphony
Orchestra. The composer Haydn seems very important for him. Outside the Haydn
Orchestra, he had recorded some of Haydn's works with the Festetics Quartet and the
Nicholas Eszterhazy Simfonia. Haydn' Oratorios including "The Creation" have
Recitatives accompanied by keyboard and Cello, and in that case, he plays. Therefore not
only as an orchestra member, he has extra rehearsals with the continuo player or singers.
Since he plays the historic instrument with Festetics Quartet, he often suggested
interesting ideas during the Haydn Symphonies recording session. His beautiful solo
play is heard in many Symphonies such as Symphony No. 13.
