Many of Haydn Orchestra's Cello players are Hungarian and
Mrs. Cibylle Honeck is the only one female cellist. Fans of the Vienna Philharmonic may
recognize her family name, She comes from very famous music family. Her brother Manfred
was a principal Viola player in the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra. Taking up conducting,
now he is one of the regular conductors at the Zurich Opera House. Once he even conducted
even the Haydn Orchestra. The other brother, Rainer is one of the concertmasters of the
Vienna Philharmonic and the leader of the Vienna Virtuoso. He was also the first
concertmaster of the Haydn Orchestra. When she was a child, I think she enjoyed the
chamber music in the family. Now she belongs to the Vienna Volksoper and she sits in a
different orchestra pit from her brothers. She is very friendly person and when I asked,
"What is your hobby?" she answered "Music, music, music".
