The Internationale Haydntage 2008 ended successfully and the new season has started. Since 2009 is Haydn’s memorial year, Haydn Festival management made ambitious plan. The official Haydn year 2009 program starts 31. March 2009 with Maestro Nikolaus Harnoncourt and Concentus Musicus. During the Easter week there will be concerts of Haydn’s mass, many variations of “The last seven words”.
Around Haydn’s death day 31- May is the climax of the year. Adam and the Haydn Orchestra will play “The Creation” at Haydnsaal and symphonies at the Esterháza castle in Fertöd.
Next year annual Haydntage is extended to almost three weeks. It starts on 9. September and all of London and Paris symphonies will be performed by many different orchestras.
After Haydntage 2009, Adam Fischer and the Haydn Orchestra have two big tours. German tour with Gábor Boldoczki (Trumpet) and Sharon Kam (Clarinet) is end of October, and then Far East tour starts at the end of November. There are four concerts in Korea, and at least six concerts in Japan. Next year will be very busy for anybody who likes Haydn.
Next issue we will report the “Rusalka” from Brussels La Monnaie, and the new
year’s concert by Adam Fischer and London Philharmonic in Budapest..
